Depth of Field: Karl Grobl

Karl Grobl is an amazing man. He travels more than he stays at home. He shoot compelling images with his vast selection of lenses, a 18-35 f2.8 and a 70-200 f2.8. That’s it, that is his whole kit. He shoots because there are compassionate stories that need to be told and NGOs that need his help in telling those stories. I caught up with Karl over Christmas just days before he left to fly to Sri Lanka. I recorded the conversation with a pretty sorry mic over Skype. Not the usual quality when I work from my home studio. But Karl is clear and his story moving. I know you will enjoy this. Karl Grobl, shooting simple or others can simply live. Just listened (in iTunes). What a great interview. I think I say that every time, but it's true. I found this one to be particularly encouraging.

I like this interview a lot. Especially the work that Karl is doing for NGO and how Karl is using less-and-less equipments to accomplish his photography. I too will carry less on photoshoot now after hearing and seeing the kind of work Karl produce. Thanks for a great interview and sharing your point-of-view on photography.
